Apple Dumplings

Dough

2 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons baking powder
3/4 cup butter
1/2 cup milk

Combine all ingredients and roll out. Cut into 6 inch squares.

Sauce

2 cups sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 cup butter
2 cups water

Cook 5 minutes.

6 apples, cored/peeled/sliced

Place spoonful of sliced apples in center of dough square. Spoon sauce over apples. Pinch corners of dough to center. Place in baking dish. Repeat with remaining apples, sauce and dough. Dot with pats of butter. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes until crust is golden and apples are tender.
