Cherry Muffins

1/2 cup  sugar
2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 small jar, about 1/2 cup maraschino cherries, with liquid
2 eggs
3 tablespoons butter
1 cup milk
1 1/2 cup flour
 
Stir together dry ingredients. Add the cherries. Mix eggs, cherry liquid & melted butter. Add the dry mix to the wet mix until just combined. Bake for 15-20 mins at 375 degrees. 

Note - add one teaspoon almond extract for a great cherry-almond taste
