Chicken Artichoke Casserole

3 pounds cut-up chicken
1 1 /2 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/4 teaspoon pepper
6 tablespoons butter
1 can whole mushrooms
2 tablespoons flour
2/3 cup chicken consomme
3 tablespoons sherry wine
1 - 15 ounce can artichoke hearts

Season chicken pieces with salt, pepper and paprika. Brown chicken in 4 tablespoons butter. Transfer chicken to casserole dish. Add remaining butter to skillet and saute mushrooms for 4 minutes. Sprinkle with flour and add consomme and sherry. Cook 5 minutes longer. Arrange artichoke hearts between chicken pieces. Pour sauce over the casserole and bake at 375 degrees for one hour.
