Chinese Pepper Steak
1 1/2 or 2 pounds top sirloin 2 large green peppers 2 large onions 1 teaspoon cornstarch, diluted in 1/4 cup cold water 1 can sliced water chestnuts 1 clove of garlic, smashed 1/4 cup oil 1 teaspoon ginger 1 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon pepper 1/4 cup soy sauce 1/2 cup beef bouillon 1/2 teaspoon sugar
Freeze meat for about an hour to make it hard, but not frozen. Slice meat into 1/8" strips. Put oil in frying pan. Add garlic, ginger, salt and pepper. Fry until garlic is golden brown. Add meat and saute until brown. Remove meat. Place bell peppers and onion slices into frying pan. Saute, but do not overcook. Add meat again, along with bouillon, soy sauce, sugar, water chestnuts and cornstarch mixture. Cook until sauce thickens. Serve over white rice.
