Cheese Onion Bread
2 packages dry yeast
1 cup warm water
1 cup cottage cheese, well drained
2 tablespoons butter
2 eggs, well beaten
1/2 cup onion finely chopped
2 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons dill seed
1 tablespoons salt
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 cup wheat germ
3 1/2 cups flour
Or omit wheat germ and use all flour
Dissolve yeast in warm water. Heat
cottage cheese and butter until lukewarm. Combine the cottage
cheese and butter with the eggs, onion, sugar, dill seed, salt
and baking soda. Mix well. Stir in the yeast. Add wheat germ
and flour gradually as dough forms. Beat well. Cover and let
rise until double in size. Stir down and knead about one
minute. Place in loaf pan and bake at 350 degrees about 60
minutes. Bread should be nicely browned.
