Peanut Squares

1 box yellow cake mix
1/3 cup butter, softened
1 egg
3 1/2 cups of mini-marshmallows

Mix together the cake mix, butter and egg. Mix until crumbly. Pat into ungreased 13x9 baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 12-13 minutes. Immediately after removing from oven, evenly sprinkle the marshmallows of the crust. Return to oven for 1 or 2 minutes longer, until marshmallows puff.

2/3 cup white Karo syrup
1/4 cup butter
1 package peanut butter chips
2 teaspoons vanilla
2 cups Rice Krispies
2 cups salted peanuts

Over a low heat, melt the Karo syrup, butter, peanut butter chips and vanilla. Stir until smooth. Remove from heat. Add Rice Krispies and peanuts and mix. Spoon over marshmallows. Cool. Refrigerate covered. Cut into squares.

Note: For a chocolate taste, substitute chocolate cake mix and chocolate chips.
