Bessie's Best Pecan Pie

3 eggs, beaten
2/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup melted butter or margarine
1 tablespoon flour
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup light corn syrup
1 cup pecans, halved or chopped
9-inch unbaked pastry shell
whipping cream

1. Combine all ingredients except pecans, and beat until well blended.  Stir in chopped pecans and pour into pie crust. Or pour filling into crust and arrange pecan halves in a circular pattern on top.

2. Bake at 375°F for about 50 minutes or until knife inserted in the center comes out clean.  If the pecans start to get too brown, cover loosely with foil near the end of baking.

3. Serve warm or chilled with mounds of whipped cream.
