Tomato Biscuits Recipe

Tomato Biscuits Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil finely shredded
  • 1 can refrigerated flaky biscuits
  • 2 medium size tomatoes thinly sliced
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper

Instructions

  1. Mix together mayonnaise, salt, pepper and basil.

  2. Press each biscuit into a 4-inch circle.

  3. Place biscuit circles on a lightly greased cookie sheet.

  4. Bake at 400 degrees for 6 minutes.

  5. Spread each biscuit evenly with about 2 teaspoons mayonnaise mixture.

  6. Top evenly with tomato slices.

  7. Bake at 400 degrees for 6 minutes more or until mayonnaise mixture is bubbly.

Pumpkin Biscuits Recipe

Pumpkin Biscuits Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons packed light-brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter chilled and cut into thin slices
  • 1 15 oz can unsweetened solid-pack pumpkin

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.

  2. Grease a cookie sheet.

  3. In a large bowl, stir the flour, brown sugar, baking powder, salt and spices.

  4. With a pastry blender or two knives, cut in the butter until the mixture looks like cornmeal.

  5. Stir in the pumpkin and mix until you form a soft dough.

  6. On a well-floured surface, with well-floured hands, pat out the dough to 1/2 inch thickness.

  7. Using a floured, sharp knife, cut out 2 inch-square biscuits.

  8. Place them on the cookie sheet and put it on the middle rack of your oven.

  9. Bake the biscuits for 15 to 20 minutes.

  10. Serve hot or at room temperature.

Gingerbread Muffins Recipe

Gingerbread Muffins Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup applesauce
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup boiling water
  • sugar

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees.

  2. Grease muffin cups or line with paper muffin cups.

  3. In a medium bowl, beat egg, applesauce, oil. molasses and sugar, mixing well.

  4. Stir together dry ingredients in a medium bowl; add to egg mixture.

  5. Stir in water, mixing well.

  6. Fill muffin cups two-thirds full, then sprinkle lightly with sugar.

  7. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until muffins test done.

Orange Nut Muffins Recipe

Orange Nut Muffins Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon grated orange rind
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1/2 cup walnuts
  • 1 medium sized orange
  • 1 cup sugar

Instructions

  1. Cream together the butter and 1 cup sugar.

  2. Combine the flour, baking soda and salt.

  3. Alternate adding dry ingredients and sour cream to the butter and sugar mixture.

  4. Mix in the orange rind, raisins and nuts.

  5. Butter will be stiff. Pour butter into muffin tins, fill almost full.

  6. Bake at 375 degrees for 12-15 minutes.

  7. Watch carefully as they burn quickly.

  8. Squeeze the orange to make 1/2 cup juice.

  9. Combine with the 1 cup sugar.

  10. After the muffins come out, drizzle the orange juice mixture over the muffins.

Carrot Muffins Recipe

Ingredients

  • 4 carrots grated
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1/4 cup orange juice
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 cups cornmeal
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 4 tablespoons butter melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees.

  2. In large bowl combine carrots, milk, orange juice and eggs.

  3. In separate bowl sift together the flour, cornmeal, baking powder, sugar and salt.

  4. Slowly stir the flour mixture into the carrot mixture.

  5. Add melted butter.

  6. Pour into greased muffin tins and bake for 25-30 minutes.

Caramel Cinnamon Muffins Recipe

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar
  • 2 cup sifted flour
  • 3 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons shortening melted

Instructions

  1. Grease muffin pans and place 1/2 teaspoon of butter and 1 teaspoon brown sugar in each cup.

  2. Sift flour, baking powder, salt and cinnamon together.

  3. Beat egg; add milk, shortening and remaining 1/2 cup brown sugar.

  4. Add to sifted dry ingredients, stirring only enough to dampen all the flour.

  5. Fill prepared muffin pans 3/4 full and bake at 425 degrees for 20 minutes.

Butter Rolls Recipe

Butter Rolls Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 package yeast
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/4 cup warm water
  • 3 eggs beaten
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup butter melted, cooled
  • 1 cup lukewarm water
  • 5 cups flour

Instructions

  1. Dissolve 1 tablespoon sugar and yeast in the 1/4 cup warm water. 

  2. Add all remaining ingredients, adding flour slowly and mixing after each addition.

  3. Let rise until doubled in size.

  4. You can also put in refrigerator overnight.

  5. Divide dough in 2 parts.

  6. Roll out and cut into pie shaped wedges.

  7. Roll loosely starting at wide end.

  8. Let rise and then bake at 350 degrees for 12 - 15 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 tablespoons salad oil
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 cup blueberries
  • 1/2 cup nuts chopped

Instructions

  1. Beat eggs.

  2. Gradually add sugar.

  3. Add milk and oil. 

  4. In a separate bowl mix together the flour salt and baking powder. 

  5. Add to liquid. Mix only until blended.

  6. Gently fold in blueberries and nuts.

  7. Pour into loaf pan.

  8. Bake at 350 degrees for 50-60 minutes.

Onion Cheese Bread Recipe

Onion Cheese Bread Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 small package corn meal muffin mix
  • 1 cup creamed styled corn
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup grated sharp american cheese
  • 3 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 1 large onion chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons milk

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in frying pan.

  2. Add onion and saute until golden brown.

  3. Pour off butter in 9x9x2 cake pan.

  4. Pour muffin mix into bowl.

  5. In separate bowl, blend egg, milk and corn.

  6. Pour into muffin mix and mix well.

  7. Spread in baking pan. 

  8. Top with onions, then sour cream and cheese.

  9. Bake 35 minutes at 425 degrees or until golden brown.

Quick Pumpkin Bread Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 16 ounce package pound cake mix
  • 1 cup canned pumpkin
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon allspice

Instructions

  1. Using a mixer, beat all ingredients until blended.

  2. Pour into a greased loaf pan.

  3. Bake for one hour at 350 degrees.
